Summary:Collection of writings and other papers relating to children's author Margaret Wise Brown. Writings (box 1) consist of drafts, both typescript and autograph manuscript, of poems and stories, as well as an extensive autograph revision of "Count To Ten," in the printed version of Brown's Wonderful Story Book (New York: Simon and Schuster, 1948). Other papers (box 2) include a small number of original pieces of artwork, letters, an unsigned last will and testament, a list of works by Brown, one color photograph of her home on Vinalhaven Island off the coast of Maine, and several printed postcards of scenes from County Kerry, Ireland. Correspondents include illustrator Jean Charlot.
